Welcome new MEF members:

The MEF Technical and Operations Committee develops technical specifications and implementation agreements while defining, streamlining and standardizing processes for buying, selling and operating MEF-defined services.

Three Work Areas

The Technical and Operation Committee focuses on three broad areas of development work: Services, Orchestration and Operations. Each are has teams working on specific projects to define and advance Carrier Ethernet services as the foundation for agile, assured and orchestrated Third Network services delivered over automated, virtualized, and interconnected networks globally powered by LSO, SDN, and NFV.

The Technical Specifications page shows full details of all current and retired specifications.

Services

Conducts definitions and architecture works for Ethernet, IP, Cloud, Security and future L4-7 services.

Orchestration

Develops architectures, information models, APIs for MEF’s LSO initiative and also includes management works such as SOAM, SAT and management interface profiles.

Operations

Operational processes and products in the areas of lifecycle, partner and reference management.

Types of Specifications These include architectural and abstract models required to create a robust platform of technical requirements and definitions. They are the principal documents that define mandatory and optional elements, attributes etc.
