MEF Unveils Special Training and Professional Certification Events with 4Q 2018 Roadshow

MEF Accredited Training Providers offer limited time only special training and bundles for MEF-CECP re-certification and new MEF-SDN/NFV and MEF-NF certifications

Los Angeles, 25 September 2018 – MEF is pleased to announce it is expanding opportunities for professional certification with a new roadshow offering a variety of special classroom and virtual training options focused on teaching the skills needed to build automated, virtualized, and interconnected networks supporting dynamic MEF 3.0 services. MEF’s Professional Certification Roadshow will be held in cities worldwide during October through December 2018, including at the Layer 123 SDN NFV World Congress in The Hague (8 – 12 October) and at MEF18 in Los Angeles (29 October – 2 November).

Training packages will cover MEF Network Foundations (MEF-NF), MEF-SDN/NFV, and re-certification for individuals previously accredited as MEF Carrier Ethernet Certified Professionals (MEF-CECP).

“Qualified technical expertise represents a major challenge for service providers making the transition to MEF 3.0 services,” said Kevin Vachon, COO, MEF. “MEF professional certifications recognize individuals who have demonstrated the valued skills required to support the industry’s most advanced services orchestrated across automated networks powered by LSO, SDN, and NFV.”

MEF Accredited Training Providers
Each special training session will be delivered by MEF Accredited Training Providers (MEF-ATPs) who will provide the knowledge domains, learning resources, relevant technical specifications, and key subject areas that participants need to master to pass specific certification exams. Sessions are offered in a mix of different formats, ranging from one day in-person classroom courses to multi-day virtual courses and combinations thereof.

Each event consists of a specially priced training and exam bundle for the following:

  • MEF Network Foundations (MEF-NF) : The starting point for the integrated family of networking technology certifications. Knowledge domains include SDN, NFV, Carrier Ethernet/Connectivity Services, LSO/Orchestration, and various combinations and use cases in these practice areas.
  • MEF Carrier Ethernet Certification Program (MEF-CECP) re-certification : Previously certified professionals with expired or soon-to-expire credentials, can attend courses designed to raise their technical level to MEF 3.0 CE Release 1, which includes numerous additional CE functionalities in the areas of wholesale operator services, class of service, service OAM, and more.
  • MEF Software Defined Networks/Network Functions Virtualization (MEF-SDN/NFV) : Validates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to plan, deploy, and operate a complete range of solutions in both SDN and NFV.
